The Internet plays an ever-increasing role in our daily lives. Only a few short years ago, online services such as e-payment and multi-player gaming were almost unknown. Today we can organize much of our lives via our mobile phones and computer screens – a trend that looks certain to increase in the future.

My client is a leader in leveraging the power of the Internet. They already use state-of-the-art internet technologies in every area of their web communications and they continuously strive for innovation in their online operations. They are already improving their online presence with various initiatives using tools such as Adobe Scene7.

This is only the beginning. Their E-business team has many more challenges ahead and is actively looking for enthusiastic internet professionals to join them.

Your Responsibilities:
As Lead Consultant Application Architect – Front-End, you’ll lead a team of front-end website developers. In this role you will be responsible for the performance of your team (delivered on time and with outstanding quality), while still having hands-on responsibilities.
Your highest aim will be customer satisfaction.

Your main tasks will include:
- providing consultancy in concept design sessions together with marketing business owners.
- leading and coaching a team of 4 to 8 developers.
- translating design and business requirements into work packages for team members.
- end-to-end responsibility for front-end code using the latest Web 2.0 technologies.
- ownership of a front-end architecture that fits into the company's online landscape, developing and improving this architecture to support projects and online roadmaps.
- managing resource planning, allocating resources to operations and planning.
- responsibility for the competency development of people, including innovation by creating a training framework and organizing competency sessions.

Your Profile:

You have a Bachelor degree or higher plus 7 to 10 years of post-graduate experience and the capacity for high-level conceptual thinking.

In addition, you have:
- at least 7 years of relevant experience building large, complex websites
- at least 5 years of experience with architecture, design and usability of web enabled applications / Rich Internet Applications (RIA)
- at least 3 years of experience leading a front-end team
- expert knowledge of HTML 4.x and expertise in Cascading Style Sheets 2.x, JavaScript, Ajax, Adobe Flex, JSP, XML, W3C Web Standards and XHTML
- expertise in integrating with third parties providing RIA/e-services.
- experience working in UNIX and/or Mac environments
- expert knowledge of design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver, plus expert knowledge of cross-browser, cross-platform compatibility and design constraints
- knowledge of Agile development methodologies
- a solid understanding of design and usability principles
